I wouldn’t say these are misleading it does seem to have steel wool wrapped around it.I will say that this isn’t a good replacement for Steel Wool Scrubbing Pads because they simply are not as effective at scrubbing some things. Light stuff it scrubs ok, I will say that it will not dig into your skin and cause your skin to peel though like Steel Wool Scrubbing Pads do.I felt more comfortable scrubbing things with these that I would normally be afraid it would scratch, but I wouldn’t bet my money that this won’t scratch anything.The material seems durable, but it’s basically just string wrapped with this steel wool, and woven into a cloth rather then just a big coil of steel wool like the Steel Wool Scrubbing Pads.Some burnt on things won’t be difficult to scrub off with these, but if it’s burnt bad and I am not afraid to scratch it then I would use Steel Wool Scrubbing Pads, this won’t be nearly as effective. Also, I would say that this is not going to be a general purpose rag, this will not be good for anything other then scrubbing moderately burnt stuff from your dishes and will not be good at generally cleaning them.
