With this didactic desk we
offer to the public’s interest the full equipment of a knight
or man-at-arms from the XII-XIII centuries, ranging from the various
components of armour, such as mail coifs, hauberks and helms, to
offensive weaponry, like swords and shields, axes, maces, spears and
daggers.
The
public is also encouraged to touch and try on the defensive
equipment, to better get the feel of its weight and physicality.
We
also indulge in showing the technique for linking metal rings in
chain mail preparation.
Finally,
this desk represents an opportunity for the public to demand
any sort of question, to satisfy their curiosity, not only about
medieval arms and armour, but about the medieval times in general.
